Futures ETF 6trillion breakthrough · Space Tech ETF 2trillion, while smaller products see outflows
A clear concentration in large products is emerging in South Korea’s ETF market. As the total size of futures ETFs grew to 6trillion, the TIGER US Space Tech ETF’s net assets surpassed 2trillion, while RISE 200Weekly Covered Call’s net assets surpassed 1trillion.
In South Korea’s exchange-traded fund (ETF) market, fund flows centered on large products have been observed. The total size of futures ETFs was recorded at 6trillion. Meanwhile, funds are flowing out of smaller ETF products.
Among thematic ETFs, products focused on optical communications have posted returns exceeding 81% this year. Returns on these products are being highlighted. Inflows are also being observed in similar thematic ETFs.
Meanwhile, there have been cases of sharp declines in leveraged products. Following a drop in Samjeon-Nix share prices, some 2times leveraged ETFs plunged 20%. Financial authorities have begun examining the market impact of the sharp decline.
RISE, a monthly-distribution covered-call ETF, 200Weekly Covered Call's net assets 1surpassed the trillion-won mark. Funds flowed into the product due to demand for monthly distributions. It was reported that its assets grew as a result of this demand.
The net assets of the TIGER U.S. Space Tech ETF 2exceeded the trillion-won mark. Approximately 1.8trillion won flowed in from individual investors. The ETF is structured to track space-related companies.
A market report stated that AI, defense, and income-oriented ETFs should be watched. The report included an assessment that fundamentals were positive. A recurring trend has been observed in which investor interest is concentrated in thematic and income-oriented products.
