Funds are concentrating in space-themed and AI-related ETFs. TIGER U.S. Space Tech’s net assets1have exceeded trillion won, while some ETFs have reduced their weighting in SpaceX.

South Korean investors are flocking to ETFs related to U.S. private space companies and AI. TIGER U.S. Space Tech ETF’s net assets1have surpassed trillion won. The product holds private space companies and related suppliers.
Some space-themed ETFs tried to increase their weighting in SpaceX but instead reduced it during portfolio management. One reason was that SpaceX is an unlisted company, making it difficult for ETFs to hold it directly. ETFs generally build exposure by holding listed equipment and component makers.
One newly launched space-related ETF saw inflows accelerate just one month after its launch. Investors are choosing ETFs as an indirect investment vehicle for private space companies. As a result, assets under management in ETFs in the related sector have grown rapidly.
Meanwhile, a global ETF investing in robotics stocks was introduced. In traditional financial institutions, The-K Savings Bank launched a savings product with an annual interest rate of 4.7%. Some pension investors cited the “Samsung-Hynix” bond-mixed ETF as a key option.
Among individual stocks, some rose on expectations for AI. For certain stocks, expectations of benefits related to AI led to share-price movements. However, the holdings of each ETF and stock vary by product.
Overall, funds are flowing into space, AI, and robotics themes. More investors are checking the holdings of individual ETFs and their management disclosures. Changes in holdings weights are scheduled to be disclosed in quarterly management reports.
