KODEX net assets surpass 200trillion, accelerating ETF fund flows

As funds move rapidly among ETFs listed in South Korea, net assets in the KODEX range have exceeded 200trillion won. The expansion of assets under the KODEX brand has sharpened competition among asset managers. Market participants say ETF flows are affecting the allocation of funds across indexes and sectors.
Hana Asset Management’s US flagship index ETFs 4each exceeded 1trillion won in net assets. These ETFs invest directly in overseas indexes. The increase in net assets reflects inflows into these products.
KODEX AI Semiconductor TOP2Plus surpassed 4trillion won in net assets. Funds are reported to have flowed into this product after the weight of a particular company in its portfolio was adjusted. Changes in the composition of its holdings contributed to the increase in net assets.
Woori Asset Management has launched a new bond-mixed ETF that includes Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor. The product is structured to invest in a mix of bonds and stocks. Bond-mixed ETFs target different investor needs in terms of stability and returns.
Some reports put forward a target price for Samsung Electronics61with a forecast denominated in units of ten thousand won. Samsung Electronics’ share price reacted after the forecast was announced. Among group-affiliated ETFs, LG affiliates performed relatively strongly, while POSCO affiliates posted losses.
