South Korea 7 month 8 announced that it would ease regulations on foreign investors’ omnibus accounts. The authorities said they would revise the system to improve the convenience of account operations for foreign investors.
The IMF presented 2026 South Korea’s economic growth forecast at 2.6%. The IMF was also reported to have lowered its global growth forecast in the same announcement.
Geely Group disclosed that its first-half sales reached 142 ten-thousand units. The company said it recorded its highest-ever sales volume in global markets.
Geographical Group reported that it continued sales in the domestic market even without subsidies. It cited expanded sales by region as the reason for the strong sales performance.
The Institute for Social Value announced 7 month 9 day that it would establish a global standard for measuring social value together with SK Telecom and SoftBank. The two sides said they would jointly pursue indicator development and pilot implementation.
The Bank of Korea counted 41 counterfeit banknotes detected in the first half of the year. It reported that this was 21 fewer than in the same period a year earlier.
