SK hynix lists on Nasdaq… reviewing a stock split and mentioning U.S. investment

SK hynix 10listed on the U.S. Nasdaq as an ADR on a local day, and attention is growing that Chairman Chey Tae-won’s remarks about reviewing a stock split and the possibility of additional semiconductor investment in the United States could change access for investors.

At an event at Nasdaq’s Manhattan headquarters and in an interview, Chairman Chey said, "We can consider a stock split to expand the base of individual investors," adding, "If a request comes in, we will of course review it."

However, Chairman Chey said he has not received a stock-split proposal from the current chief financial officer (CFO).

Chairman Chey said at the same event that AI demand was increasing exponentially, assessed that a structural shift had taken place in the semiconductor industry, and described the Nasdaq listing as a "historic moment".

Kwak Noh-jung, CEO of SK hynix, said in his listing ceremony speech that this listing opens a new door for investors around the world and improves access to investment.

Chairman Chey also said that additional investment in semiconductor production facilities in the United States could be possible if suitable locations and conditions are in place, and Song Hyun-jong, head of SK hynix's Corporate Center, also attended the event.
