ETF trading value share breaks through 30%, with daily trading value of 34trillion won and funds shifting to semiconductor ETFs

The share of ETFs in the market is growing. ETFs’ share of total stock trading value exceeded 30%, while daily trading value reached around 34trillion won. This shows that a significant portion of investor orders is concentrating in ETFs.

There was also news concerning monthly-distribution ETFs. Some monthly-distribution products posted returns of more than 99% this year, and funds are flowing into products highlighting monthly dividends.

By sector, inflows into semiconductor-related ETFs stood out. Shinhan Asset Management’s AI Semiconductor TOP2Plus ETF’s net assets surpassed 7trillion won, rising to 3th place among semiconductor-related ETFs.

Samsung Electronics and SK hynix frequently appear among the top holdings in domestic ETF portfolios. Several ETFs hold these two stocks as core holdings.

Elsewhere in the market, changes in consumer patterns are being observed. Recently, as consumers increasingly seek nourishing foods at home due to the hot weather, demand related to chicken has risen noticeably.

Growth in ETF trading value and net assets is increasing the importance of competition among asset managers and the composition of holdings.
