Jeju Province launched the governor-directly controlled 'Livelihood Economy Situation Room' on 7month 10day. Its purpose is to watch economic indicators directly linked to the lives of Jeju residents, including prices, consumption, and small business sales, in real time and respond at all times if a crisis occurs.

The situation room said it will first observe everyday, closely watched indicators in Jeju Province. The targets include consumer trends, small business store sales, and local prices.

A provincial official explained that operating the situation room would make it possible to detect changes in indicators more quickly and respond promptly. Detailed response procedures and operating hours will be announced later.

Jeju Province said this measure is intended to enhance the stability of the local economy. In particular, it plans to closely monitor fluctuations in small business owners and domestic consumption.

The situation room said that if any abnormal signs are detected through real-time monitoring, it will consult with the relevant departments and decide on a response direction. The judgment on whether it is a crisis and the response will be carried out directly under the governor.

Jeju Province said it will use this organization to increase the frequency of checks on everyday economic indicators and to detect crisis signals early. The first activation date is 2026year 7month 10day.
