ETF fund flows continue: RISE 1trillion·space tech 2trillion milestone

The net assets of the TIGER U.S. Space Tech ETF exceeded 2trillion won. According to a management report, approximately 1.8trillion won in individual investor funds flowed into the ETF. A trend of individual funds concentrating in products themed around space and aerospace technology has emerged.

An ETF holding optical communications has posted a return exceeding 81% since the beginning of the year. The product is characterized by a portfolio that reduces its weighting in Chinese big tech and includes the optical communications sector. Return fluctuations resulting from the sector switch have been observed.

Some 2leveraged ETFs recorded sharp declines in the % range as their underlying holdings weakened. 20A related report said that a decline in the share price of a specific stock, Samjeon Nics, triggered the leveraged ETF plunge. Financial authorities are examining whether leveraged products are affecting the market.

SpaceX IPO shares are expected to be included in domestic ETFs and public funds. It was reported that the plan to include the IPO shares is undergoing review by some product managers. News of the IPO inclusion led to inflows into space-tech-related products.

Meanwhile, market observers say interest is shifting toward AI, defense, and income-oriented ETFs. Some reports suggested paying attention to these thematic ETFs. Funds are being observed to diversify across monthly-distribution and thematic products.
