Samsung Securities, Samsung SDS and Samsung Card invest in a stake in Dunamu4% for 6,128 investment

Samsung Securities, Samsung SDS and Samsung Card 5On 28, announced that they had acquired existing shares in Dunamu 4%. The acquisition is valued at 6,128 hundred million won. The companies said they would expand their cooperation in digital asset businesses.

The shares being acquired are held by existing shareholders. Kakao was reportedly among the parties that sold its shares, disposing of its entire stake in Dunamu. The transaction counterparties and specific terms can be confirmed in the disclosure.

With this investment, Samsung Group affiliates have joined as major shareholders, alongside existing major shareholders such as Hana Bank and Hanwha Investment & Securities. Dunamu plans to handle an agenda item on changes to its board composition at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting. The company is outlining plans related to overseas businesses, including in the United States and Southeast Asia.

Competition among domestic financial firms and foreign companies to secure stakes in exchanges is also continuing. Reports have emerged that Korea Investment & Securities and cryptocurrency exchange OKX are showing interest in a stake in Coinone. The market says participation in exchange ownership is increasing.
