The agreement was said to aim at supporting customer liquidity. POSCO will handle the network of partner companies, while KB Kookmin Bank will be responsible for supplying funds.
The two institutions said they will support the cash flow of small and medium-sized trading partners facing funding shortages through supply chain finance. They said the specific interest rate level and loan limits will be operated in accordance with the agreement.
POSCO said it had prepared the program to promote mutual growth in the steel industry ecosystem. KB Kookmin Bank said it would build a loan execution framework to support liquidity.
On the day of the event, the two sides said they would announce the program's operating methods and the criteria for selecting eligible companies at a later date. The application process and screening standards for participating companies will be provided later.
The two sides said the framework is intended to stabilize cash flows within the supply chain. They explained that the goal is to directly address cash shortages at small and midsize partner companies.
