Woori Bank pushes to build a nationwide joint response network with police against voice phishing

Woori Bank 7month 10day signed a business agreement with Seoul Gangbuk Police Station to prevent damage from telecom financial fraud, including voice phishing. The bank said it would expand the same type of cooperative relationship nationwide and build a network to respond to financial fraud.

The agreement was said to focus on joint responses to reduce damage from telecom financial fraud affecting customers. Specifically, what systems will be linked and how will be decided after consultations.

According to the report, Woori Bank plans to strengthen detection and blocking of criminal signs, as well as procedures for supporting victims, through cooperation with the police. The agreement with Gangbuk Police Station was introduced as the first such example of this cooperation.

The bank said it plans to expand the scope of cooperation with relevant institutions based on the agreement. It said it will pursue a plan to extend its response system to local police stations, taking into account the growing variety of financial fraud cases.

This cooperation is expected to proceed in stages through working-level consultations between Woori Bank and the police, as well as the signing of additional agreements. It said it will announce the related detailed schedule and implementation method at a later date.
