Kia, Telluride 46ten thousand2,869units to be recalled again in the United States

Kia has decided to recall 46ten thousand2,869Tellurides again in the United States. The decision follows the identification of inadequacies in repairs previously carried out for a power-seat defect.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Kia will begin sending notification letters in 2026the year 8the month 13the day. It reported that the recall process will be fully launched with the start of the letter distribution.

The vehicles covered are 2020–2024model-year Tellurides46ten thousand2,869units sold in the United States. The vehicles were classified as having been produced from 2019the year 1the month9the day through 2024the year 5the month29the day.

The issue is the possibility of the power seat motor overheating and the inadequacy of a past repair. The company confirmed that the repair carried out 2years ago was inadequate.

Owners in the United States will receive free installation of an “electronic fuse assembly” to prevent the power seat motor from overheating. Kia plans to provide instructions and a schedule for installing the device.

According to documents submitted to the NHTSA and Kia’s report, owners of vehicles subject to the recall will receive notification letters. Each owner will then receive a free repair according to the designated procedures.

Kia is currently expected to make additional disclosures related to the recall. If additional disclosures are made regarding the company’s consumer response and the detailed recall schedule, the company will provide separate guidance.
