Park cited two drivers of improved performance. First, orders for thermal compression bonding equipment (TC bonders) from its subsidiary Hanwha Semitech have resumed. Second, global sales in the security division have been strong.

In the security business, an increase in CCTV sales in Europe was reported. The company explained that the effects of new product launches and an improved product mix worked together. As a result, it said that improved profitability in the security business was being observed.

The report also mentioned the possibility that SK hynix could place an order for TC bonders with Hanwha Semitech. It indicated that, if the order becomes a reality, equipment orders could expand. It said that confirmation of the order should be verified through a future disclosure.

Analyst Park forecast that a full-fledged improvement in earnings would become visible from the second half of the year. He cited the resumption of orders and strong security sales occurring at the same time as the reason.
