Samsung Electronics, eSSD PM for NVIDIA’s ‘Vera Rubin’ platform1763 mass production begins
Samsung Electronics 7 month 8 day announced that it had begun mass production of the NAND-based enterprise SSD ‘PM1763’ for NVIDIA’s next-generation AI platform ‘Vera Rubin.’ The product is a high-capacity storage device for AI servers based on PCIe 6.0 and, following the shipment of its DRAM-based HBM4 Samsung has now added NAND to its presence in NVIDIA’s supply chain.

Samsung Electronics 7 month 8 day announced that it had begun mass production of the enterprise SSD ‘PM1763’ for NVIDIA’s next-generation AI platform ‘Vera Rubin.’ The company said the product is included in NVIDIA’s supply chain.
PM1763 is a NAND-based eSSD for AI servers, and the company explained that it is optimized for high-capacity data storage by applying the PCIe 6.0 standard. The company introduced the product as being designed for high-capacity workloads for AI training and inference.
Samsung Electronics previously, in 2 month, became the first in the world to mass-produce and ship the DRAM-based high-bandwidth memory (HBM)4 used in Vera Rubin. The company said that, with the addition of mass production of this eSSD, it has established a supply chain encompassing both DRAM and NAND.
According to the company’s announcement, HBM is used to increase data processing speed, while eSSD is used to store large volumes of data. Samsung Electronics plans to supply PM1763 in line with the timing of NVIDIA product shipments, it added.
Samsung Electronics announced that this mass production will expand its presence in the AI memory sector and strengthen its next-generation AI-related product portfolio.
