Samsung Electronics 7 month 8 day announced that it had begun mass production of the enterprise SSD ‘PM1763’ designed for use with NVIDIA’s next-generation AI accelerator Vera Rubin. The product is a NAND-based eSSD supporting the PCIe 6.0 standard.
PM1763 is a product designed to reliably store and quickly deliver the large-capacity data required for AI training and inference, the company explained. With this mass production, the company has also added a NAND-based product to NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin supply chain.
Samsung Electronics previously, in 2 month, became the first company in the world to mass-produce and ship DRAM-based high-bandwidth memory HBM4. HBM4 focuses on processing speed, while eSSDs such as PM1763 handle large-capacity storage.
The company said it would respond to the AI infrastructure market based on a structure that provides solutions across the entire memory sector, including HBM4 and eSSD. PM1763 is a product in the enterprise SSD lineup.
According to the article, Nvidia’s Vera Rubin launch schedule in the second half of this year and whether server companies adopt it could affect actual shipment volumes and expanded supply. The timing of Samsung Electronics’ mass-production announcement is 2026year 7month 8day.
